How to Style the Loewe Bags the Fashion Set Is Coveting This Summer

With summer's imminent arrival, we're finalizing the details of our warm-weather wardrobes for both city days and vacations alike. Ask any fashion person and they'll tell you that the true star of a new season, and the hero of any wardrobe, is the perfect It bag—and right now, Loewe is top of mind. Of course, every Loewe bag is a dream, but the brand's latest styles crafted from natural fibers—think raffia and iraca palm leaves—have completely taken over our editor group chats, coffee runs, and post-work subway convos. We truly can't stop talking about them.
Eliza Huber—our senior fashion editor and in-house luxury handbag connoisseur—put the latest Loewe bags to the test on the streets of New York. First, the Puzzle bag—an icon, of course—now reimagined in a woven raffia fabric that feels structured yet laid-back. Then there's the Punch Hole hobo bag, a versatile staple made for easy, on-the-go styling. Eliza styled each bag with head-to-toe Loewe, and she's giving us the inside scoop on how and where she'll wear these bags this season. Keep scrolling for endless inspiration.
"Ever since I moved to the Upper West Side from SoHo, I basically spend all my free time in Central Park, and if I'm not in the park, I'm roaming around nearby. It's my happy place, and the perfect backdrop for many of my favorite outfits, particularly in the summer. Who needs a bunch of colorful pieces when you have an abundance of greenery? With that in mind, I styled this fairly neutral-colored ensemble for a day of roaming in the park followed by lunch at my go-to spot on the west side. Specifically, I wore a sculptural tunic top, made of delicately draped ivory silk, with a classic pair of black trousers, tan leather mules, and the bag I've had my eye on since, well, forever: The Loewe Puzzle, this time in black-and-tan raffia. It's the perfect bag for everyday use because it surprisingly fits so much and can be carried in a plethora of different ways, from a clutch to a top-handle to a crossbody." — Huber
"I've never been much of an oversize bag person unless it's a work bag—a nonnegotiable for office-goers like myself—but something about Loewe's raffia-and-leather Punch Hole hobo bag made me go against my usual instincts. I fell in love—hard—with its somewhat oblong base and chic leather details, which are even cooler in person. On a rare free day when I popped into one of my favorite Upper West Side museums and enjoyed an early outdoor dinner, I threw my essentials into the bag and put on a buttery soft suede bomber jacket, white capri pants, and a shockingly comfortable pair of gray mules (the material feels like a cushy neoprene hoodie). Then, I headed out the door and walked too many miles when I probably could have taken the subway. In the summer in New York City, outfits deserve to be seen and experienced as much as possible, so I like to walk. Plus, it gave me more opportunities to show off my outfit." — Huber
